Research group Innovation Laboratory and Point of Care Technology

The Research Group Innovation Laboratory and Point of Care Technology investigates the opportunities, barriers and framework conditions for developing and implementing measurements on people in their own environment for prevention or monitoring of health or care issues.

About the research group

How can we develop lab tests that can be used by people who have no laboratory experience and/or medical knowledge themselves? And what is needed for these tests to be as green and sustainable as possible? This research group is most closely aligned with the BML (Biology and Medical Laboratory Research) degree programme, but also certainly with the other degree programmes.

"The accessibility of care is under increasing pressure, due to scarcity of healthcare professionals and resources. By deploying technology with people in their own environment, we can provide more appropriate care."
