    Rebuilding a public high school

    Harasta, Syria

The assignment in Syria was developed in collaboration with Tasneem Fatta and Atef Nanuu of Molham Team, a non-profit organisation established by a group of young Syrian professionals in order to improve conditions of displaced Syrian citizens as a result of the conflict in the country and rebuild the country after the end of the war.

The assignment consisted of an integral proposal for the rebuilding of a destroyed school building in Harasta, near Damascus. The new buildings combines a boys and a girls secondary school with communal services.

The students were required to consider the three aspects of design, engineering and execution within the complex local context, considering both current and future needs of the users. Tasneem Fatta and Atef Nanuu were involved in the opening and end presentations of the assignment.
