The assignment in Syria was developed in collaboration with Tasneem Fatta of Molham Team, a non-profit organisation established by a group of young Syrian professionals in order to improve conditions of displaced Syrian citizens as a result of the conflict in the country.
The assignment consisted of an integral proposal for new buildings combining a school and a mosque to be built by Molham Team in the autonomous north of the country.
The students were required to consider the three aspects of design, engineering and execution within the complex local context, considering both current and future needs of the users. Tasneem Fatta and Atef Nanuu were involved in the opening and end presentations of the assignment.
