Marleen Goumans started her career in the policy and health management of Maastricht University. In 1998, she completed her PhD research, called 'Innovations in a fuzzy domain', which discusses organisation concepts of healthcare in urban cities. Subsequently, at NIZW and Vilans she concerned herself with knowledge development and distribution in the field of living, healthcare and well-being of elderly people and people with disabilities. She also further developed her skills in managing, inspiring and coaching staff. Since 2007, she has been applied research professor Integrated Care for Older People at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Besides her work as an applied research professor, Marleen is programme director at Research Centre Innovations in Care.
