Research Centre Innovations in Care develops, in interaction with the professional practice, a joint vision of the future and challenges of the field in question and the significance of this for current and future professionals. Practice-based research is important for us in order to achieve the aspired final level of bachelor education. Contribution
The research centre contributes to the quality of education by integrating research results into Bachelor- and Master programmes. In this way, the graduates of these programmes will be optimally suited to the practice-oriented needs of Rotterdam’s health care institutions.
The research centre also presents projects that connect research and education. Through practical assignments (at various levels including minor and graduation projects), students can contribute directly to a research project. We supervise these students and are involved in the organisation of Minor+, an innovative project in which a team of ambitious students (working for an Honour’s Degree), teachers and researchers collaborate, each from their own field, on a joint assignment.
Students from other Schools of the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, such as the School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Communication, Media and Information Technology, School of Management, School of Financial Management, School of the Built Environment, School of Education, School of Social Work, among others, also deliver valuable contributions to the projects of the Research Centre Innovations in Care. By encouraging multidisciplinary projects, we also contribute to high-quality professional education.
