About the professor
Erik van Schooten studied at the Nieuwe Lerarenopleiding D'Witte Leli (Dutch/Health Sciences; Diploma 1982) and at the University of Amsterdam (Doctoral Dutch Studies, main subject Speech Communication; minor subjects: Portuguese Literature and Methods and Techniques of Social Scientific Research; Diploma 1985). In 2005 he obtained his PhD with a longitudinal study on the development of the literary response and the attitude towards reading fiction among students in secondary education. His bibliography contains more than 90 publications, including articles in American and Dutch scientific journals, research reports and papers for conferences.
