    Larissa Hartog

    Junior Data Scientist

Larissa Hartog works as a Junior Data Scientist at the HR Datalab Healthcare. Her expertise lies in the implementation of machine learning, and she applies this in various projects. She is particularly involved in the Perined project, which is focused on improving perinatal care in the Netherlands.

Larissa Hartog completed her studies in Applied Mathematics at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. During this program, she pursued the minor "Data Science for Business Improvement" for further specializing in the domain of machine learning. Larissa conducted her graduation research at the Research Center Innovations in Care at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, providing her the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from her studies in the Perined project. In this project, she investigated the possibility of predicting Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) admissions in infants using machine learning techniques. This enables the categorization of pregnant women into risk profiles, supporting healthcare providers in identifying pregnant women at an elevated risk of NICU admission. In addition to her role as a Data Scientist, Larissa is actively involved as a top athlete in the field of cycling (cyclocross).
