Sander Hilberink graduated as a psychologist from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2000 and obtained his PhD thesis 'Smoking cessation support for COPD patients in general practice' in 2013.
In 2009, Sander started as a senior researcher at the research centre. He is involved in citizenship, participation and Disability Studies. Since 2019 he has been professor 'Ageing with lifelong disabilities'. Within this research group, ageing with lifelong disabilities is central, from the perspective of citizenship and different stages of life. These perspectives are linked to support possibilities from (long-term) care.
