Informal carer

You are taking care of your mother, father, or another family member. You do your homework when on break, or in between classes, but you have no idea how to keep up, and have not had time for sports or fun things with friends for a long time. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences can help restore your balance.

Extra support?

As informal carer you can get personal guidance and coaching at Student Welfare Advisors. We are here to listen, and will give you advice about how to best combine study and informal carer responsibilities.

Student Welfare Advisors can link you to a fellow student (peer coach). Someone who has had the same experiences as you. Or we can link you to a student who can help you with time planning. A fun way to exchange info and experiences!

Study delay?

Is caring for another such a big part of your life that it’s impacting your studies in a negative way? Are you missing classes because you have to take a family member to a hospital on a weekly basis? Or is it difficult to study at home? Contact a student counsellor as soon as possible. The student counsellor is there for your support, and can possibly advice your study programme to take your situation into account.
