Online usage
how to read e-books directlyReading online
All EBSCOhost e-books can be read directly in your web browser. Sometimes you have a choice between "PDF Full Text" and "EPUB Full Text". PDF retains the original formatting, while EPUB is better for mobile devices because the layout adapts to smaller screens.
Availability
In the detail view, under "Rights", you can see how many copies are available. If all copies are currently in use, it will state " Not available". If you try to open the title, you will receive an "eBook is in use"-message. You will then have to wait until someone finishes viewing a copy online.
Offline usage
an overview of the (download) optionsBorrowing an EBSCO e-book
Borrowing a complete e-book for reading offline is not possible. This option has been switched off because in practice nobody almost used it.
Downloading a section in PDF format
For many (though not all) e-books, it is possible to download a number of pages as a PDF. Whether this is available and what the page limit is can be seen on the detail page. Click the "Download" button, or the download icon next to the chapters in the e-book view.
Full download of unprotected e-books
Some titles are available with unlimited access and are unprotected. For these types of titles, it states "Download will not expire". You can download these without needing an account or special software. However, this does not mean that you are allowed to further distribute the e-book.
