Education and Research Centre Innovations in Care

Within the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, the research centre is closely connected with the School of Health Care, which provides (post-)vocational health care education.

The School offers Bachelor Degrees in

  • Midwifery
  • Nursing
  • Teaching Health- and Social Care
  • Care Management.

Master Degree programmes include

  • Advanced Nursing Practice
  • Physiotherapy for Children
  • Manual Physiotherapy
  • Sports Physiotherapy
  • Physician Assistant
  • Physician Assistant in Midwifery.

The research centre contributes to the quality of education given by integrating research results into Bachelor- and Master programmes. In this way, the graduates of these programmes will be optimally suited to the practice-oriented needs of Rotterdam’s health care institutions.

The research centre also presents projects that connect research and education. Through practical assignments (at various levels including minor and graduation projects), students can contribute directly to a research project. The research centre supervises these students and is involved in the organisation of Minor+, an innovative project in which a team of ambitious students (working for a Honour’s Degree), teachers and researchers collaborate, each from their own field, on a joint assignment.

Students from other Schools of Rotterdam University, such as the School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Communication, Media and Information Technology, School of Management, School of Financial Management, School of the Built Environment, School of Education, School of Social Work among others, also deliver valuable contributes to the projects of the Research Centre Innovations in Care. By encouraging multidisciplinary projects, we also contribute to high-quality professional education.
