Dr. Ellen Klatter

Professor Enhancement of the Vocational Education and Training, Applied research professor Study Success

Ellen Klatter graduated as an educationalist from the University of Groningen and holds a PhD from Radboud University in Nijmegen. During her career, she has carried out various studies on the pivotal points of the Dutch educational system.

In recent years, Ellen Klatter has conducted research into the didactics of (technical) vocational education, educational development, professionalisation and research from the research group Didactics of Technical Education (Fontys). From this position she was commissioned by the Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (Vereniging Hogescholen) to chair the editorial board of the Knowledge Base Teaching Technical Professions. Since 2011 she has been working on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as chairman of the Sectoral Renewal Committee for Technology for the Renewal of Vocational Education and Training (Vernieuwing Beroepsgerichte programma's VMBO). Klatter combines the lectorate Study Success with her appointment as professor Enhancement of the Vocational Education and Training, both at the Research Centre Urban Talent of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
