In the area of metropolitan issues, Toby Witte conducts research, publishes and teaches on governance of the welfare sector (including transformation and transition Social Support Act), young people and violence, participation, social investment, Muslim youth, early school leaving and professionalisation of care & welfare. Toby Witte explicitly strives to translate practical research and innovation into (higher) education and to link it to practice and policy.
