    Heidi van Heijningen-Tousain

    Research associate

    Heidi van Heijningen has been a project associate at the Research Centre for Innovations in Care since March 2015. She provides support to several research groups, including Midwifery & Maternity Care, Audit and Registration, Transitions in Care and Disability Studies.

    She draws on her professional background in nursing, midwifery and maternity care in her work. In addition to supporting various projects, Heidi is responsible for maintaining OpEigenBenen.nu, a website developed by the Transitions in Care research group.

    Heidi also coordinates the Midwifery & Maternity Care Parent Panel and the Student Research Council, in which students from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences’ midwifery programme participate. She is also involved as a lecturer and coordinator in the elective course Pregnancy & Parenthood with a Physical Disability. This course brings together knowledge and expertise from the various research groups, as well as Heidi’s personal experience.
