Harald Miedema is a medical doctor and epidemiologist. He has been professor of Work and Health at Research Centre Innovations in Care since 2005. From 2000 to 2010, he was director of Research Centre Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders of the Erasmus MC. Until the year 2000, he spent three years working as a program coordinator at The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw), and before that, he worked at TNO Prevention and Health. In 2016, he completed his PhD research on diagnosis and prognosis of back pain and complaints of the arm, neck and/or shoulder (CANS).
