Read what our Alumnus had to say about his experience at RBS and the Master in Consultancy & Entrepreneurship.

    Why did you choose MCE?
Before joining MCE, I had several years of professional experience in digital transformation and consulting in Iran, as well as a Master's degree in IT Management from the University of Tehran. I wanted to gain an international perspective and further develop my consulting and entrepreneurial mindset in a global environment, which made MCE a natural choice.

What was special about the programme?
What attracted me most was its unique focus on consultancy and entrepreneurship. As far as I know, it is the only programme in the Netherlands that combines these areas so strongly. Being located in Rotterdam, an international and dynamic city, also provided excellent opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and industries.

What did you think of RBS and RUAS as a university?
My experience with RBS and RUAS was very positive. The university offers everything you would expect from a high-quality institution: an inspiring atmosphere, experienced lecturers, a great location, and a strong sense of opportunity and personal growth.

What is the most important thing that you have learned while studying at RBS?
One of the most valuable lessons was learning how people from different cultures and professional backgrounds work together. Through guest speakers, industry professionals, and lecturers with extensive practical experience, I gained meaningful insights into the Dutch and international business environment.

How did the programme prepare you for the professional field?
The programme helped me adapt to life and work in a new country while also building my understanding of professional expectations in Dutch and international organisations. It gave me practical knowledge and a broader perspective on how businesses operate, and also insight into entrepreneurship and consultancy frameworks, which are extremely useful in work-related projects.

For what types of companies or organisations can you carry out practical assignments?
During the programme, we worked with private companies, public organisations, and governmental institutions. We also had opportunities to attend events, interact with professionals, and engage with different industries, which provided valuable exposure to real-world business challenges.

Which company are you working for now?
I am currently working as an Information Manager at Carl Zeiss, a global medical technology company. The knowledge, practical skills, and international perspective I gained during MCE have been highly valuable in my professional role.
