Why did you choose MCE?
I chose the programme because I wanted to step outside my accounting background, challenge myself, and gain a broader understanding of business, innovation, and entrepreneurship. I was looking for a programme that would help me see business from a different perspective and give me the tools to transform ideas into actual projects in the future. Besides, it was a one-year, English programme in Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, so it matched all my requirements.
What was special about the programme?
The most special thing was meeting people literally from all over the world, including lecturers, and learning from their cultures, experiences, and different backgrounds. In the end, you make friendships with people from countries you had never been to or never even imagined visiting.
What did you think of RBS and RUAS as a university?
It felt very cozy and welcoming :). The facilities were modern and the environment provided exactly the experience I was looking for when choosing to study abroad.
What is the most important thing that you have learned while studying at RBS?
In my case, the programme opened my eyes and mind by helping me think more creatively and ‘outside the box’. My bachelor’s degree is in Accounting, so I had never been exposed to other areas of business. I wanted to gain a clearer picture of how businesses operate nowadays, and I was especially curious to learn how people transform their ideas into actual businesses and gain the tools to do that myself in the future.
How did the programme prepare you for the professional field?
It gave me the tools to identify industries that I relate to and helped me understand the importance of networking and continuously learning. It also taught me how to present myself professionally and develop problem-solving skills and adaptability, as we worked with different companies across many industries and worked in teams with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
For what types of companies or organisations can you carry out practical assignments?
Basically, for any company that is facing a challenge.
Which company are you working for now?
I am currently working for Polarsteps, a company I got to know through a networking event in Rotterdam organised by one of the companies we collaborated with during the Project Management course.
