    Hanneke Reuling new member of the Executive Board at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences

    The Supervisory Board at RUAS appoints Hanneke Reuling as member of the Executive Board starting 1 April 2024.

    “Given her experience in higher education, Hanneke Reuling will make a major contribution to achieving the objectives of the Strategic Agenda. Specifically in meeting our research ambitions. Her drive and vision will enable her to better link education and research to each other and to the issues facing the city”, states Anja Oskamp, Chair of the Supervisory Board.

    Oskamp: “Her track record in higher education is impressive. We therefore confidently welcome Hanneke Reuling as a new member of the Executive Board. With her clear and connective communication style, she will fit in well with the Rotterdam mentality at RUAS.”

    Hanneke Reuling holds a PhD in Theology and has worked in higher education for 25 years, as a lecturer, researcher and manager. She started as a doctoral candidate and lecturer in Utrecht, continued her career at the National Research School NOSTER, and then changed to Fontys University of Applied Sciences, where she has worked as a lecturer, site manager and Director of Education & Research.

    From 2013, she worked in the metropolitan context of Amsterdam, first at VU Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), and from 2017 at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), where she was Vice-President of the Executive Board.

    Hanneke Reuling is married with 3 grown up children. She lives in Haarlem and is looking forward to working in Rotterdam. “With its education and research, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is firmly rooted in Rotterdam society. I find that very empowering. The major social transitions are key to the Strategic Agenda. In my opinion, this is a fantastic chance for the combination of education and research to have an even greater impact. I am really looking forward to contributing to this.”
