A committee of the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) will assess the RUAS quality assurance system. The central question is: does the quality assurance system ensure that we live up to our vision of sound education and does RUAS work continuously on improvement?
IAQA is an important tool. It enables us to evaluate and improve our internal quality assurance. This is done based on both a general impression and a more detailed examination of the quality assurance of four study programmes.
By participating in the IAQA, we are demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement and to meeting the high-quality standards expected of us. During the IAQA, we are assessed against four standards: vision and policy, implementation of vision, monitoring, and improvement.
A positive IAQA decision ensures that our study programmes are accountable to the four standards in their six-year accreditation cycle. Without a positive IAQA decision, this would be eleven standards.
Panel site visit
The IAQA is conducted by a panel appointed by the NVAO. The panel will spend a total of five days visiting and interacting with staff, students, the Executive Board, the participation boards, and the Supervisory Board.
The preparations involve cooperation with many internal and external stakeholders. From the professional field to students, lecturers, researchers, facilitators, and management.
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is confident of a positive result and is looking forward to these five days.
