for help with searching and finding information

Since the Rotterdam University has closed most of its buildings, you cannot borrow books until 15 June. This is part of the corona virus measures that have been taken to minimise physical contact. However, we are available online to help you with questions regarding databases, finding information, teaching materials, copyright issues, etc.

No lending service until June 15th

Frequently Asked Questions

After the summer holidays it will be possible to borrow books again. In the mean time you can make use of e-books.

Are you finishing up your study, or do you have tests or exams? If so, you can requests books from the library and pick these up later. We have made a dedicated booking form where you can choose a date and time, and mention the books you would like to borrow. You can then collect the books from location Academieplein on Monday's or Wednesday's, between 12:00 and 14:00h.

Request books

No: we have set a "holiday period" in our lending system until June 1 and turned on automatic renewal. By doing so, your borrowed materials will be renewed automatically until June 15. In your personal START account you will be able to see which materials you have on loan.

Do you have an urgent reason to return your books? For example because you're about to finish your study and then move elsewhere? Until 15 July you can return your books at the Academieplein building. This is only possible after you make an appointment for this, on Monday or Wednesday, between 12:00 and 14:00h.

We temporarily turned off the reservation option since it is not possible to collect them by yourself. All outstanding reservations requests have been canceled. Also you also cannot request books from other libraries (ILL). Requesting journal articles is still possible. Read this news item for information on borrowing/reservations by appointment.
