Rotterdam Business School (RBS) is the international institute of Hogeschool Rotterdam (Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences) and offers undergraduate and graduate education in business and economics. RBS offers English taught programs at Bachelors and Masters level. One Bachelor programme: International Business, two Master programmes: Master in Consultancy and Entrepreneurship, Master in International Supply Chain Management, and a pre-master program.

RBS is linked to the 'Hogeschool Rotterdam' Knowledge Centre Business Innovation where practice-oriented research relevant to the professional practice and contributing to the quality of education is conducted in cooperation with the educational programs and the work field.

The Master International Supply Chain Management is looking to recruit a Lecturer And Thesis Supervisor Digital Supply Chain Management (0.6 fte).


Lecturer position in the master International Supply Chain Management with a focus on digital supply chain management. As a lecturer he/she will also be involved in the development of the curriculum and bring in his/her expertise and network. As a supervisor he/she supports the student throughout the process of writing the master’s thesis, with the goal of having the student submitting a thesis that fulfils all Master level requirements (NLFQ7/EQF7 level). The MSC student population is international and students have diverse backgrounds.


In order to carry out the duties effectively, the person appointed is required to have the following skills and experience:

  • a master degree or PhD in Supply Chain Management or in a closely related field;
  • a background in digital supply chain management;
  • established teaching degree or coaching skills at a master level;
  • high cultural sensitivity and the ability to cater for a diverse student population;
  • English language skills at least on CAE level or other relevant programme;
  • a structured work approach;
  • previous work experience in supply chain with an international focus; the ability to integrate relevant current developments from the professional field into the work as a supervisor;
  • the ability to create a stimulating learning environment for the student; 
  • commitment to team responsibilities;
  • a flexible, and result- and student-oriented attitude;
  • knowledge of and affinity with ICT.


Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Rotterdam) offers you a fixed term contract (one year D4) with the possibility of extension. The salary range is HBO-CAO grade 11 (€ 3,658.64 minimum and € 5,026.85 maximum gross per month) for full-time employment, exclusive of 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. All staff members of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences must be able to submit a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag, VOG) issued by the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security.
